About Us:

We place a strong emphasis on whole life discipleship so that faith makes sense wherever you live or work. When we gather together we hope to help each other to become equipped to be 'the best that we can be' wherever God sends us. And we hope to be a place where all ages can learn from each other. We hope God will make us a people and a place where people find wholeness and blessing, not judgement and criticism.

A Community Church

Zion Harvest 2013 Worship in New Sanctuary 1

We are a church of Jesus Christ, and so we are committed to:

Shared lunch

Developing our relationship with God,

Building our fellowship together

Becoming a blessing within our community

Blessed to be a Blessing

As a community we long to see all strengthened and encouraged to become the people they long to be. This happens in small groups or through activities for different ages or interests or as a whole church community. We hope people will discover it is a blessing to be part of this family so that they are able to live lives that bring blessing wherever they are.

Our History as a Church

Zion United Church came into being in 1968 when the United Reformed Church (at the time Congregational) and three Methodist Churches in the Village of Frampton Cotterell and Coalpit Heath decided to come together to form a united church. For more of that read the History Zone. It is interesting, coal miners, and hat factory workers coming together to bless their community.
